BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg volleyball team fell to East Stroudsburg, 3-1 (14-25, 19-25, 25-17, 22-25), in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) clash inside Nelson Field House on Friday night.

Katie Kuehl (Aston, Pa./Archmere Academy (Del.)) led the Huskies with a career-high 17 kills and a .286 hitting percentage.
Elise Adelman (Pataskala, Ohio/Watkins Memorial) finished closely behind with seven kills on 16 total attacks while also notching 36 assists. Overall, the Huskies recorded a combined 46 kills in the contest.

The first set saw East Stroudsburg (18-7, 8-5 PSAC East) jump ahead to an early 6-3 advantage before a 4-1 rally from Bloomsburg (8-18, 5-8) knotted the score at seven apiece. Â From there the Warriors surged ahead to a 15-8 lead on the back of an 8-1 swing. Back-to-back kills from Adelman looked to give the Huskies momentum but ESU remained on the gas, closing out the first set, 25-14.

Marlee Johnson (Newville, Pa./Big Spring) tallied a pair of kills while
Sophie Wales (Port Matilda, Pa./State College) registered an ace to give the Huskies an early 3-0 lead. East Stroudsburg then posted six straight points to regain control of the contest.
Lydia Worthing (Tyrone, Pa./Bellwood Antis),
Emily Gustie (Crofton, Md./Crofton) and Kuehl all recorded kills as the maroon and gold slowly clawed back to a 15-15 score. The Warriors capitalized on errors from to take the lead once more before Allison Birtcil notched three kills to end the second set, 25-19.

The third set saw the Huskies on the receiving end of a three-point run to open the set before a pair of Kills helped bring the lead back to the maroon and gold. After a 4-1 ESU run gave the visitors an 8-6 lead, Bloomsburg posted nine straight to go ahead 15-8. The run saw back-to-back aces from
Hannah Robson (Charlotte, N.C./Arborbrook) and kills from Wales, Johnson and Adelman. Bloomsburg kept East Stroudsburg at bay for the remainder of the set to avoid the sweep, taking the set 25-17. The Huskies hit .233 in the set, their highest hitting percentage of the match.

Bloomsburg jumped ahead to a 3-0 lead in the fourth set with kills from Kuehl and Adelman, as well as an ace from
Alynna Haggadone (Broomfield, Colo./Legacy). The score moved to 6-4 in favor of the maroon and gold before a trio of Warriors notched kills in a 7-1 run. A back-and-forth exchange slowly brought the score to an 18-18 deadlock. East Stroudsburg then rallied for four straight points. Johnson and Kuehl responded with kills the lead into an ace from Gustie to put the Huskies down 22-21. From there, ESU garnered three of the next four points to take the set, 25-22, and pick up the win.

Bloomsburg returns to Nelson Field House on Saturday, November 16 for the final game of the season and Senior Day at 2 p.m.
