SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – The Bloomsburg volleyball team fell to Shepherd, 3-0 (15-25, 20-25, 15-25), in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) clash inside the Butcher Athletic Center on Saturday afternoon.

Emily Gustie (Crofton, Md./Crofton) led the team in kills with six while
Sophie Wales (Port Matilda, Pa./State College) and
Lydia Worthing (Tyrone, Pa./Bellwood Antis) each posted five.
Elise Adelman (Pataskala, Ohio/Watkins Memorial) finished with a team-leading 20 assists and 11 digs.

Shepherd (21-4, 12-0 PSAC East) jumped ahead to an early 6-0 lead in the first set, before Wales got Bloomsburg (8-17, 5-7) on the board with a kill. A back-and-forth exchange advanced the score to 12-5 before a four-point swing moved the Huskies within three. After the score moved to 15-12, a 10-3 run gave the Rams enough momentum to close out the set, 25-15.

The second set saw Shepherd jump out to an early lead once more with a 5-1 run. The maroon and gold managed to even the score at 9 apiece before the Rams tallied three-straight points to regain control. Bloomsburg continued to reel the Rams back in yet again, knotting the score at 16-16. A late surge from Shepherd put the home team ahead, 22-17. Gustie notched a pair of kills in an attempt to close the gap once more, but Shepherd ultimately took the second set 25-20.

Bloomsburg battled early in the third set with the Rams, trading points to a 7-6 advantage for SU. Shepherd took control of the set with a 12-4 for run to move the score to 19-10. The Huskies were unable to close the gap, dropping the set 15-25.

Bloomsburg is back at home for its next contest, hosting East Stroudsburg on Friday, November 15 at 6 p.m. inside Nelson Field House.
