Box Score 2 BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg women's tennis team split a pair of matches over the weekend to open the spring portion of their 2023-24 season. The Huskies defeated Wilkes University 7-2 on Saturday before dropping a 7-0 match to NCAA DI Saint Francis University on Sunday.

On Saturday against Wilkes, the Huskies won two of the three doubles matches to take an early 2-1 lead.
Lexi Quackenbush (Pittsburgh, PA/Fox Chapel) and
Jen McDonald (Melbourne, Australia/Brentwood Secondary College) won 8-1 at No. 1 Doubles and
Lia-Sophie Seele (Mülheim, NRW, Germany/Luisenschule) and Mazurek toon No. 2 Doubles 8-1 as well.

Alyssa Mazurek (McAdoo, PA/Hazleton Area) gave the Huskies a 3-1 lead with a, 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 4 singles. Seele won her second match of the day in a back-and-forth No. 1 singles match. Seele dropped the first set 6-2 before rebounding for a 7-6 win in the second set. She closed out the win with a 10-4 victory in the tiebreak.

Maddie Delisio (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin High School) won 6-1, 4-6, 10-7 at No. 4 Singles and
Riley Noss (Mifflinville, Pa./Central Columbia) took No. 5 Singles, 6-2, 4-6, 10-7.
Brooke Henry (Saint Mary's, PA/Saint Mary's Area) rounded out the match wins with a 6-3, 3-6, 10-2 win at No. 6 Singles.

Against Saint Francis on Sunday, Seele battled in a close No. 2 singles match but fell to Marie Disicni, 6-2, 6-2. McDonald also had a close singles match but fell 6-2, 6-2 as well at No. 3 singles.

The Huskiest return to action on Saturday, February 17 when they travel to Hershey, Pa. to host Daemen University in a 4:00 p.m. match.
