BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg baseball team dropped a pair of contests to Lock Haven, 4-1 and 7-5, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) doubleheader at Danny Litwhiler Field on Thursday afternoon.

Five Huskies recorded multiple base hits in the contest as Bloomsburg (2-11, 0-6 PSAC) posted 12 hits across two games.

Game 1

Lock Haven (5-11, 2-6) broke the stalemate in the third as Gavin Neal drew a walk to bring Jake Ambrosio across the plate. A single to second base from Greg Cristino extend the Bald Eagles' lead to 2-0.

Neal brought his second run of the day around the bases on an RBI-single to center field in the fifth.

Lock Haven drove in its fourth run in the top of the sixth with an RBI-double to right-center field.

Jonathan LaBarbera (Lebanon, Pa./Cedar Crest) put the maroon and gold on the board in the bottom of the seventh, blasting a solo shot over the left-center field wall. They were unable rally a comeback as Lock Haven won 4-1.

Scott Gilbert (Scranton, Pa./Abington Heights) was tacked with the loss after giving up three runs, four hits and three strikeouts in 4.1 innings pitched.
Michael Standen (Drexel Hill, Pa./Monsignor Bonner) allowed one run in 2.2 innings with a pair of strikeouts.

Lingenfelter picked up his second win of the season, going 4.2 innings with no runs allowed and two hits.

Lock Haven outhit Bloomsburg 8-4 in the contest.

Similar to game one, the Bald Eagles scored the first run of the game in the third on an RBI-groundout from Cristino

Cam Gracey doubled the Lock Haven lead to 2-0 on an RBI-single down the left-field line in the top of the fourth.

Brady Gibble (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson) pulled the Huskies back within one in the bottom of the frame on a sacrifice-fly to left-center field, bringing
Wyatt Metzger (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove Area) in from third.
Â
The Bald Eagles posted five runs in the top of the fifth to jump ahead 7-1.

Metzger brought one run across in the bottom of the inning on an RBI-single to right field.

The Huskies looked to come back in the seventh as a double down the left field line moved
Josh Wilson (Clinton, Md./Bishop McNamara) 90 feet from home plate. Back-to-back outs brought designated hitter
Jeremy Cawley (Duryea, Pa./Pittston Area) to the plate with the game on the line. A wild pitch advanced the runners as Wilson scored to make it 7-3.

Cawley then lined an RBI-single to left field to make it 7-4 as Metzger completed his trip around the bases.

Ryan Flury (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) singled in the next at bat and advanced to second as the centerfielder overran the ball, allowing Cawley to round the corner at third and bring Bloomsburg within two.

After
Jacob Reifer (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia Area) was hit by a pitch the go-ahead run came to the plate in
Eli Riley (Harrisburg, Pa./Mercersburg Academy). On a 1-2 count, a checked swing sent Riley down swinging, as Bloomsburg's comeback attempt fell short.

Metzger went 2-for-3 at the plate in game two, recording a double and an RBI.

Cawley went 2-for-2 with an RBI, a run and a walk.

Nate Baranski (Larksville, Pa./Wyoming Valley West) picked up his second loss of the year, giving up six hits, two earned runs and striking out six in 4.2 innings-pitched.

The Huskies travel to Lock Haven on Saturday, March 16 for a 1 p.m. doubleheader to close out the series.
