Box Score BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg women's tennis team opened Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East action with a 5-2 win over Shepherd University, Monday afternoon.

The Huskies opened doubles with a 6-0 win at No. 2 doubles behind a solid performance by Dasha Nakonechna and
Lia-Sophie Seele (Mülheim, NRW, Germany/Luisenschule).
Alese Rinker (Altoona, Pa./Altoona Area) and
Jen McDonald (Melbourne, Australia/Brentwood Secondary College) clinched the first match point for the Huskies with a 6-0 win at No. 3 doubles. The Rams avoided the doubles sweep with a 7-6 (4) at No. 1 doubles.

McDonald pushed the Huskies lead to 2-0 in the match with 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles and
Nicole Ilkovic (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy High School) gave the Huskies a 3-0 lead with a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 2 singles. The Rams got on the board with a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 1 singles.

Nakonechna won the match for Bloomsburg as she took No. 3 singles 6-3, 7-6 (6). Shepherd took the No. 5 singles match 7-5, 2-6, 10-5, but Seele closed out the day for Bloomsburg with a 6-7, 7-5, 10-1 at No. 4 singles.

The Huskies return to action on Friday when they travel to Jefferson for a non-conference match in Philadelphia, Pa.
