#19 Lacrosse Falls to #15 Kutztown For First Loss of the Year

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The RV/#19 Bloomsburg lacrosse team fell to #17/15 Kutztown University, 18-3, Wednesday afternoon. The Huskies fell to 6-1 on the year and 2-1 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East action while the Golden Bears improved to 6-1 and 3-0 in conference play.
 
Bloomsburg tallied goals from Maya Fulmer (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley), Kayla Stressman (Harleysville, Pa./North Penn), and Madison Coyle (Williamstown, N.J./Williamstown), while Amanda Stoll (Farmingdale, N.Y./Farmingdale) and Tori Bruno (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) each had an assist.
 
Stoll led the Huskies with nine draw controls while Kristen Lee (Richboro, Pa./Council Rock South) and Stoll finished with a pair of ground balls each. AnnMarie Davenport (Elkton, Md./Elkton) led the Huskies with two caused turnovers.
 
Sam Graf scored six times for the Golden Bears and dished out an assist while Emma Meakim dished out six assists and had one goal.
 
The Golden Bears opened the game with a 5-0 first quarter and took a 9-0 lead in the second before Fulmer got the Huskies on the board with her ninth tally of the season with 4:43 to play. Kutztown closed out the half with a pair of goals to carry an 11-1 advantage into the break.
 
Stressman opened the third quarter with her 11th of the year to cut the lead to 11-2. The Golden Bears closed out the third with three-straight goals to lead 14-2 going into the final period.
 
Kutztown pushed its lead to 18-2 with four-straight goals with 5:18 to play and Coyle finished off the scoring with a good free position shot for the final score of 18-3.
 
The Huskies return to action on Saturday when they welcome #2/1 West Chester to Steph Pettit Stadium for a 1:00 p.m. PSAC East showdown.
