Hengst's NCAA Provisional Highlights Excellent Day for Track & Field at Bison Opener

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg track and field team picked up an NCAA provisional mark and four new Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) qualifier as it competed at day two of the Bison Opener at Bucknell on Sunday.
 
Freshman Abbey Hengst () placed sixth in the javelin with an NCAA provisional mark of 43.55 meters. Hengst currently sits 23rd in the nation and third in the conference. Becca Martin (Wellington, Fla./Cushing Academy) achieved a mark of 32.30 meters while Clara Dellinger (Carlisle, Pa./Boiling Springs) threw a mark 31.66 meters.
 
Robert Wilson (Ambler, Pa./Wissahickon) qualified for the conference championships with a personal-best time of 49.55 in the 400-meter. Finnegan Purtle (/) fell one second short of qualifying for the PSAC championship with a time of 50.94.
 
Delaney Porter (Pen Argyl, Pa./Penn Argyl Area) and Natalya Heard (Bloomsburg, Pa./Bloomsburg Area) each posted PSAC qualifiers in the 400-meter, running sub one-minute races. Porter finished with a time of 59.27 while Heard ran a 59.64. Kelsie Robinson (Media, Pa./Penncrest) crossed the line with a time of 1:02.64.
 
Megan Gambogi (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) qualified for the 800-meter, posting a time of 2:20.54.
 
Stephen Suwala (Brigantine, N.J./Cedar Creek) ran a time of 2:01.14 in the men's 800-meter.
 
Meah Eshelman (Bedford, Pa./Bedford) placed fifth in the mile with a personal-best time of 5:21.88.
 
Richard Loughran posted a PR in the mile as well, posting a time of 4:32.12.
 
Coral Shivok (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) matched her PSAC qualifying mark in the pole vault, clearing a height of 3.40-meters.
 
Melissa Sicinski (Fountainville, Pa./Pennridge) ran a time of 12.98 in the 100-meter, falling .17 seconds shy of a PR.
 
Madeline Ikeler posted a time of 16.49 in the 100-meter hurdles.
 
The Huskies 4x100-relay team of Sicinski, Porter, Heard and Emma Kay (Douglassville, Pa./Daniel Boone Area) ran a 49.66 in the event to take ninth on the conference list.
 
Bloomsburg returns to action on Wednesday April 17 for the Mid Week Invitational at Shippensburg.
