BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg women's tennis team rolled to a 6-1 win over Juniata on a sunny Sunday afternoon at the Burt Reese Tennis Center. The Huskies improved to 9-6 on the year.
The Eagles captured the doubles point, winning No. 1 and No. 3 doubles to take a 1-0 lead into the singles matches. Bloomsburg ran away with the singles matches for the win.
Juliana Kim (Ridgefield, NJ/Ridgefield Memorial High School) and
Brooke Henry (Saint Mary's, PA/Saint Mary's Area) won 7-5 at No. 2 doubles to help the Huskies avoid the doubles sweep.
Lexi Quackenbush (Pittsburgh, PA/Fox Chapel) won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 singles and
Nicole Ilkovic (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy High School) won 6-4, 6-4 at No. 2.
Dasha Nakonechna (Spain/IOC) took down her No. 3 singles opponent 6-3, 6-3, and Lia-Sohpie Seele won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 4.
Alyssa Mazurek (McAdoo, PA/Hazleton Area) won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 5 singles and
Alese Rinker (Altoona, Pa./Altoona Area) won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 6.
The Huskies return to Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East action on Tuesday when they travel to Kutztown for a pivotal conference match.
