KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Bloomsburg women's tennis team won its third-straight match in a pivotal Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East match over Kutztown on Tuesday. The Huskies defeated the Golden Bears 5-2 to improve to 3-1 in PSAC East action and 10-6 for the season. Kutztown dropped to 6-6 on the year and 3-2 in conference play.

The Huskies swept the doubles matches to claim the first point of the match.
Dasha Nakonechna (Spain/IOC) and
Lia-Sophie Seele (Mülheim, NRW, Germany/Luisenschule) won 6-1 at No. 2 doubles to open the match.
Lexi Quackenbush (Pittsburgh, PA/Fox Chapel) and Nicole Illkovic clinched the first point with a 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles.
Jen McDonald (Melbourne, Australia/Brentwood Secondary College) and
Alese Rinker (Altoona, Pa./Altoona Area) closed out the sweep with a 6-1 win at No. 3.

The Golden Bears evened the match with a 6-3, 7-5 win at No. 2 but Seele won her second match of the day, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 4 singles to give Bloomsburg a 2-1 lead. Mazurek won 6-1, 7-6 (7-3) at No. 6 singles to give the Huskies a 3-1 match lead.

McDonald closed out the match for the Huskies with a 7-5, 6-4 win at No. 5 singles. Quackenbush also won her second match of the day at No. 1 singles, 7-6 (7-2), 6-4. The Golden Bears closed out the match with a 5-7, 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 3 singles.
The Huskies currently sit at the No. 3 seed in the PSAC as they head into the final weeks of the regular season. Bloomsburg hosts Mercyhurst on Friday and Edinboro on Saturday in a pair non-conference matches.
