KUTZTOWN, Pa. – The Bloomsburg men's tennis team picked up a key win over Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) opponent, Kutztown, Tuesday afternoon. The Huskies defeated the Golden Bears 4-3 to improve to 3-0 in conference play and 6-5 overall.

Bloomsburg won at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles to kick off the match with a 1-0 lead.
Denis Dementev (Saint-Petersburg, Russia/) and
Iu Casamitjana (Igualada, Spain/Escola Pia Igualada) opened the match with a 6-1 win at No. 3 while
Vishesh Patel (Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India/Asia English School) and
Sergio Dilan (San Juan, Puerto Rico/Cedin) clinched the point with a 6-2 win at No. 1. The Golden Bears picked up a win at No. 2 doubles to avoid the sweep.

Patel won his second match of the day at No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-1 to give the Huskies a 2-0 lead. Kutztown cut the lead to 2-1 with a win at No. 4 singles but
Albert Martin (Barcelona/Instituto Menendez y Pelayo) extended the Huskies lead to 3-1 with a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 2 singles. Dementev's second win of the day came at the perfect time as his 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 1 singles clinched the win for Bloomsburg.
Kutztown won at No. 6 singles, 6-3, 6-3, and No. 5 singles, 6-4, 7-6 (7-3) to close out the match with a pair of wins.
The Huskies currently sit at the No. 2 seed in the PSAC as they head into the final weeks of the regular season. Bloomsburg hosts Mercyhurst on Friday and Edinboro on Saturday in a pair of key PSAC matches.
