Box Score BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - The Bloomsburg men's tennis team fell 6-1 to Edinboro at the Burt Reese Tennis Center Saturday afternoon.

"The men played well despite the scores," said head coach Rebecca Helt following the match. "A win at No. 1 doubles and singles is very, both being regionally ranked.

The Huskies fall to 6-6 overall on the season, suffering their first defeat in conference play with a 3-1 record in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC). The Fighting Scots improve to 12-7 on the year and remain the lone undefeated team in the conference (5-0).

How It Happened:
Edinboro jumped out to an early lead in the match after earning wins in No. 3 and No. 2 doubles by scores of 6-2 and 6-3, respectively. In No. 1 doubles action, the tandem of Vishesh Patel (Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India/Asia English School) and Sergio Dilan (San Juan, Puerto Rico/Cedin) went to and took the tiebreaker against Bruno Sabio and Rocco Palombarini 7-6 (7-3).

In singles action, the Huskies fought hard across all courts but were edged out by the Fighting Scots, with the visitors securing the win with victories on courts two through six. Iu Casamitjana (Igualada, Spain/Escola Pia Igualada) showcased the fight from the entire Bloomsburg lineup, coming up short in 6-7 (7-4), 6-3, 6-10 defeat in No. 4 singles against the reigning PSAC Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week, Thomas Buchard.

Denis Dementev (Saint-Petersburg, Russia/) shined for the Huskies in No. 1 singles, staving off any comeback efforts from Sabio to secure the lone point on the day for the Huskies, 7-5, 2-6, 10-8.

On the Horizon: 
The Huskies are back at the Burt Reese Tennis Center on Sunday, April 21, at 10:00 a.m. to take on Mercyhurst in another PSAC clash.
