BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg lacrosse team fell to visiting tenth-ranked Kutztown University, 16-8, Wednesday afternoon. The Huskies dropped to 8-6 on the year and 4-6 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East action while the Golden Bears improved to 12-2 and 8-1 in conference play.

The Huskies struck first as senior
Madison Coyle (Williamstown, N.J./Williamstown) found the back of the net for the 38
th time this season just 1:03 into action. The Golden Bears answered just over a minute later to tie the game 1-1 and kick off a five-goal run for the 5-1 lead with 9:44 to play in the first.
Marykate Sitko (Pennsburg, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) halted the Kutztown run with her 11
th of the year with 7:10 to play in the quarter. Lailah ElBouazzaoui closed out the quarter with her second goal to give Kutztown a 6-2 lead after the first.

Kutztown got the first shot of the second period off at the 13:48 mark but Shannon Lake's attempt went just wide of the cage and
Delaney Allen (/) was in the right position to pick up the ground ball. Allen kicked off the successful clear attempt for Bloomsburg as the Huskies drove to the cage.
Amanda Stoll (Farmingdale, N.Y./Farmingdale) drew a foul inside the arc and was awarded a free position attempt. Stoll elected to give up her shot and get the ball to Coyle who found the back of the net for the second time in the game at the 12:53 mark to cut the lead to three, 6-3.

After another goal from ElBouazzaoui for the Golden Bears,
Reiley Knize (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton) and
Maya Fulmer (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) went back-to-back to the Kutztown advantage to two, 7-5, with 7:10 to play before the half. Kutztown got one back at the 5:17 mark, but
Amanda Stoll (Farmingdale, N.Y./Farmingdale) answered to get the Huskies once again within two, 8-6, which is where the score stood at halftime.

Sam Graf kicked off the third with a goal for the Golden Bears on a free position attempt to give the visitors a 9-6 lead.
Cassidy Griffin (Lake Grove, N.Y./Sachem North) and
Marykate Sitko (Pennsburg, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) score back-to-back goals for Bloomsburg to cut the lead to one, 9-8, at the 8:57 mark. The Golden Bears closed out the third with a four-goal run and added three more unanswered tallies in the fourth for the 16-8 victory.

Kutztown out-shot the Huskies 36-23 while
Lauren Foley (Schwenksville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) made 12 saves to her counterpart's, Jenna Blesson, eight. Kutztown won the draw control battle 14-11 and scooped up 34 ground balls to the Huskies' 24.

Coyle and Sitko led Bloomsburg with two goals each while Stoll had a goal and an assist. Fulmer, Knize, and Griffin each had a goal while
Julia Cote (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus) handed out one assist. Sitko and Coyle were 1-for-1 on free position shots.

The Huskies take a quick sojourn from conference play on Saturday when Bloomsburg visits Jefferson for a 1:00 p.m. contest in Philadelphia, Pa.
