MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – The Bloomsburg men's tennis team fell to Millersville 5-2 Friday afternoon but clinched the fourth seed in the 2024 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Tournament. The Huskies end the regular season 3-3 in conference play and 7-8 overall.

The Huskies opened the match with a 1-0 advantage with the doubles point.
Vishesh Patel (Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India/Asia English School) and
Sergio Dilan (San Juan, Puerto Rico/Cedin) won 6-3 at No. 1 singles and
Fernando Barros (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Hoosac School) and
Jaime Soria (Pamplona, Spain/Liceo Monjardin) won 6-1 at No. 2 doubles. The Marauders avoided the doubles sweep with a 7-5 win at No. 3.

Patel out-lasted his opponent at No. 3 singles for the second point for the Huskies. Patel dropped the first set 7-6 but came back to win 6-3, 6-4 in the final two sets.

Denis Dementev (Saint-Petersburg, Russia/) dropped a tough match at No. 1 singles after taking the first set 6-4. His opponent, Dylan Tull, came back for a 6-2, 6-1 win in the final two sets.
Iu Casamitjana (Igualada, Spain/Escola Pia Igualada) dropped the first set 6-2 at No. 5 singles but came back to tie the match with a 6-1 win in the second set. Breno Maciel held on for the win with a 6-1 win in the third set.
Albert Martin (Barcelona/Instituto Menendez y Pelayo) dropped his first set at No. 2 singles 6-4 and rebounded for a 6-2 win in the second set to tie the match. Zach Pernia closed out the match with a 6-0 win in the final set.

The Huskies will square off against top-seeded Edinboro in the semifinals of the PSAC Tournament on Friday, May 3 at Bloomsburg.
