BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – In a four-hour contest that featured 17 different pitchers, 29 hits and 443 total pitches thrown, the Bloomsburg baseball team fell 24-13 to Pit-Johnstown at Danny Litwhiler Field on Tuesday afternoon.

Pitt-Johnstown (18-27) broke the scoring open in the top of the first with an RBI-single to right field.

Bloomsburg (13-31) responded in the bottom of the frame with
Josh Wilson (Clinton, Md./Bishop McNamara) lining an RBI-single to left field to score
Jacob Reifer (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia Area). On a failed pickoff attempt in the next at bat,
Eli Riley (Harrisburg, Pa./Mercersburg Academy) made it comfortably into home to give the Huskies the lead.

The Mountain Cats tied the game in the third on a single to left-center field before pulling ahead with a two-run double.

The maroon and gold took the lead yet again in the third as Wilson drilled a three-run home run over the center field wall to make it 5-4.

A pair of home runs in the top of the fourth helped lift UPJ to a 10-5 advantage.

With the bases loaded in the bottom of the frame, Bloomsburg drew a pair of walks and a hit by pitch to pull within two.

In the fifth, Pitt-Johnstown notched an RBI-double before pulling further ahead on a two-run homer to right center.

UPJ opened the sixth inning with another two-run home run. They then loaded the bases to score two more runs on a walk and a hit by pitch. A grand slam from the Mountain Cats' Justin Turcovski put Pitt-Johnstown ahead 21-8.

Riley sent a three-run home run into the trees over the left field wall in the bottom of the seventh. Bloomsburg scored another two runs in the inning before UPJ brought two more runs across the plate en route to the victory.

Brian Walsh (Scranton, Pa./Scranton Prep) went 3.1 innings in the start, allowing just four hits while striking out four.
James Scott (Flemington, N.J./Hunterdon Central Regional) was tacked with the loss after allowing two hits and two walks.

Riley, Wilson and
Jonathan LaBarbera (Lebanon, Pa./Cedar Crest) each went three-for-five from the dish, with the trio combining for 10 RBIs.
Wyatt Metzger (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove Area) went two-for-four with two runs while drawing a pair of walks.

The Huskies return to action for its final series of the season as they host Mansfield on Thursday, May 2. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
