EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg women's lacrosse team was tripped up by #12 East Stroudsburg, 15-6, Wednesday afternoon. With the win, the Warriors improved to 11-5 and 7-4 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East action while the Huskies dropped to 9-7 on the year and 4-7 in conference play.

The Warriors opened the game with a pair of goals in the first five minutes but Bloomsburg answered thanks to a strong defensive effort.
Mia Boccippio (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough) got the Huskies on the board with her first goal of the season at the 9:42 mark before
Lauren Foley (Schwenksville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) made a save on Mary Fitzsimmons' shot at the 3:28 mark.
Jada Johnson (Reading, Pa/Governor Mifflin) picked up the ground ball and kicked off a successful clear for Bloomsburg. The clear attempt ended with
Madison Coyle's (Williamstown, N.J./Williamstown) 44
th goal of the year with 2:39 to play in the quarter. The Huskies caused a turnover with eight seconds to play in the period and kept the Warriors off the board for the rest of the quarter.

ESU took back the lead with 10:01 to play in the second quarter as Julianna Callison scored on a free position shot for the 3-2 lead. The advantage lasted just three and a half minutes as Sohpia Zelasko scored after a successful clear to tie the game 3-3 at the 6:24 mark. The Warriors immediately answered but Bloomsburg returned the favor as
Julia Cote (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus) hit the back of the net for the 14
th time this season for the 4-4 tie with 4:57 to go in the half. The Warriors grabbed the lead for good with three unanswered goals in the final 3:21 of the quarter to take a 7-4 lead into halftime.

The Warriors pushed their lead to 8-4 with 11:43 to play in the third but
Amanda Stoll's (Farmingdale, N.Y./Farmingdale) 19
th tally of the season halted the ESU run. The Warriors added four more in the quarter to break open the game and take a 12-5 lead into the final 15 minutes of action.

Paige Moreland extended ESU's lead to 13-5 with 12:15 to play before
Madison Coyle (Williamstown, N.J./Williamstown) scored her second of the game with 10:45 to play to cut the lead to 13-6. ESU closed out the scoring with a pair of goals in the final six minutes of play for the 15-6 win.

Foley made 12 saves in the loss while the Huskies gave Abby Simonetti all she could handle, forcing her to make 16 saves for the win.

Kayla Stressman (Harleysville, Pa./North Penn) led the Huskies with five draw controls while the Warriors edged out the Huskies 14-11 on draws as a team.

The Huskies wrap up the 2024 campaign on Saturday as they host Shippensburg at Steph Pettit Stadium for a 2:00 p.m. contest. Prior to the game, the Huskies will honor their nine graduating seniors,
