AUGUSTA, Ga. - After the conclusion of her tremendous third-year campaign, Callie Sowers (Irwin, Pa/Hempfield Area) adds D2CCA All-Atlantic Region First Team selection to the list of accomplishments as announced Monday afternoon.

Sowers 2024 was a career-best season for the Irwin, Pa. native, with the right-hander possessing a 23-8 record with a 1.53 earned run average across 201.1 innings pitched. Across those 200-plus innings, the junior had 256 strikeouts to just 47 walks on the season. Sowers finished the year with 26 complete games while shutting out her opponents six times. The third-year hurler finished with career bests in ERA, wins, complete games, strikeouts per seven innings and batting average against.

Among her other accomplishments this season, Sowers received first team NFCA All-Region recognition, was selected to the All-PSAC East First Team and was twice named PSAC East Pitcher of the Week. The junior is now a three-time All-PSAC East choice (twice first team), a two-time NFCA All-Region pick and now adds her first D2CCA All-Region nod.
Sowers' standout season comes with her ascension up the Bloomsburg record books. In three seasons, Sowers holds several places among the top 10 in several categories including, strikeouts (2nd, 700), appearances (5th, 110) and innings pitched (6th, 593.2). The junior sits 11th in program history with 58 career victories. Sowers became just the second pitcher in team history to reach the 700-strikeout benchmark and is just 104 from reaching the program record.

At the PSAC Championships, Sowers tossed the 62nd no-hitter in team history, the first since 2017, to lift the Huskies to a 1-0 opening-round win over Slippery Rock. Sowers' campaign comes after helping the Huskies return to the NCAA Championship field while helping the team achieve the most total wins in a season since 2016.
