ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Aydan McFarland (Bloomsburg, Pa./Bloomsburg Area) recorded her third hat trick of the season as No. 5 field hockey defeated Roberts Wesleyan, 4-0 at Roberts Turf Field on Friday night.

McFarland registered her fourth multi-goal performance of the season, notching a trio of goals to bring her season total to 13. The senior forward leads the NCAA in goals so far this season.

Bloomsburg (7-1) took control early in the contest as
Kate Ferguson (Harrisburg, Pa./Susquehanna Township) registered the first shot just 39 seconds in. The Huskies continued to test Roberts Wesleyan (0-5) in the opening minutes, recording six shots and two corners before McFarland posted the game's first goal at the 3:35 minute mark.

Ferguson scored her fifth of the year to extend the lead six minutes later, with McFarland collecting an assist on the play.

The second quarter saw McFarland net her second of the game on a corner after receiving the insert from
Kara Koch (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg Area). Koch now has an NCAA-leading six assists this season.

Bloomsburg found the back of the cage less than three minutes later, with
Alyxandra Flick (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) finding McFarland to complete the hat trick. Flick now has six points on the year with two goals and two assists.

Despite several attempts in the second half, the maroon and gold were unable to find the back of the net but held on for the 4-0 victory.

Bloomsburg outshot the Redhawks 26-0 with 16 shots on goal en route to the team's fifth shutout of the season. It is the second time in the past two seasons that the Huskies have held their opponent without a shot.

Bloomsburg returns to action on Sunday, September 22 for its final non-conference game of the season as they head to D'Youville for an 11 a.m. contest.
