Six-Goal Second Half Fuels #5 Field Hockey to 7-0 Victory Against D'Youville

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The No. 5-ranked Bloomsburg field hockey team saw goals from five different players in a 7-0 victory over D'Youville on Sunday afternoon.

Genna Bush (Boiling Springs, Pa./Boiling Springs) and Aydan McFarland (Bloomsburg, Pa./Bloomsburg Area) each contributed a pair of goals, both finishing the game with 5 points.

Bloomsburg (8-1) opened the scoring on a corner nine minutes in, as Alyxandra Flick (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) put Bush's shot attempt into the back of the net. The Huskies amassed 13 shots across the first half but were unable to capitalize, going into halftime up 1-0.

The flood gates opened early in the second half as McFarland posted her 14th of the year just 70 seconds in. Bush got the maroon and gold on the board again 38 seconds later, deflecting in a shot from Bella Culp (Dauphin, Pa./Central Dauphin).

It took Bush just over two minute to record her second of the game, with Flick finding the Bush in front of the net for the Huskies' fourth goal.

Elena Snodgrass (Lansdale, Pa./Methacton) posted her first of the season near the midway mark of the third quarter to put Bloomsburg ahead 5-0.

McFarland notched her second of the game in the fourth quarter, rifling in a corner insert from Kate Ferguson (Harrisburg, Pa./Susquehanna Township) three minutes in.

The two connected on a goal just 52 seconds later, with Ferguson picking up her sixth of the year on a pass from McFarland.

Bloomsburg outshot D'Youville 32-0 while recording 23 shots on goal. It is the second-straight contest the Huskies held their opponent without a shot.

McFarland's two goals marked her third consecutive multi-goal effort and fifth of the season. The senior is the first Huskies two record multiple goals in three-straight games since Jenna DiSabatino in 2012.

The Huskies head to Shippensburg on Saturday, September 28 as they open conference play against the Raiders at 1 p.m.
