KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Following a pair of draws last week, Bloomsburg men's soccer is No. 13 in the latest United Soccer Coaches Division II National Poll. The 4-0-5 Huskies remain No. 2 in the Atlantic region.
The No. 13 national ranking matches the highest for Bloomsburg men's soccer under head coach Mark Bassett. The ranking additionally is the highest mark for the Huskies since 2002.
Bloomsburg began the week on the road with a 0-0 draw at Shippensburg. The Huskies had a number of chances to find the game-winner, but just missed on several opportunities. Bloomsburg returned home to celebrate Senior Day on Saturday, coming away with a 1-1 draw against Millersville. Sam Blumberger (Colchester, Conn./Bacon Academy) scored in the first half for the Huskies to give the team a 1-0 lead at halftime. Bloomsburg had to stave off a furious attacking assault from the Marauders, conceding one but fighting enough to earn the draw.
The Huskies will compete in a battle of unbeatens in a matchup with Roberts Wesleyan on Wednesday, October 15, at 4:00 p.m. before returning to PSAC play on the road for a 3:30 p.m. against Shepherd on Saturday, October 18.
