LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - Defender Owen Peri (Dallastown, Pa./Dallastown) became the latest in a growing list for No. 13 Bloomsburg men's soccer to garner PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Week honors..Peri was instrumental in executing the Huskies gameplan to shut down two of the most prominent goal scorers in Division II, helping the team go 2-0 last week and move to 6-0-5. 

The week began with a battle of unbeaten sides, as Bloomsburg came away with a 1-0 victory over Roberts Wesleyan. The Redhawks, led by forward Archie Murphy, who entered the contest with nine goals and is tied for second nationally with 11, was held off the scoresheet and stat sheet. The focal point for Roberts' attack was without a shot in his outing against the Huskies. Bloomsburg became just the second side in 2025 to record a shutout against Roberts Wesleyan on Wednesday.

On Saturday, the Huskies picked up a crucial PSAC victory over Shepherd, 3-1. Peri once more was prominent in stopping a top finisher, this time PSAC-leading scorer Josh Petty. The Rams' forward was kept without a goal as Bloomsburg jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the match. Peri recorded his first collegiate point in the contest, setting up the game-winning goal for his first career assist.

The Huskies have now taken home four of the seven East Defensive Athlete of the Week awards and have amassed five weekly accolades from the conference this season.

The Bloomsburg men's soccer team returns to Steph Pettit Stadium on Wednesday, October 22 to take on Shippensburg before traveling to West Chester on October 25, to face off with the Golden Rams in another jam-packed week of PSAC action.
