KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Senior defender Kody Besser (Lacey Township, N.J./Lacey Township) adds to his list of season and career achievements with a first-team All-Atlantic Region honor from United Soccer Coaches. The Tuesday announcement marks the Lacey Township, N.J. native's third all-region distinction from the organization and back-to-back seasons with a spot on the first team.

Besser took his position as the anchor to the Bloomsburg defense once again in 2025, helping the Huskies to another impressive defensive record. Bloomsburg finished the season with a top-10 defensive record for the second consecutive season. The Huskies ended the year seventh in Division II with a 0.659 goals against average.

Included in the defender's 2025 achievements are first-team D2CCA All-Atlantic Region distinction and first-team All-PSAC East recognition. Besser's continued accumulation of accolades has made the senior one of the most decorated men's soccer players in program history. Besser holds the most total all-region honors by a single player in program history with seven and is one of just two Bloomsburg defenders in the last 30 years to be a first-team All-American. The defender is also one of three players in program history to be a four-time All-PSAC selection and one of six with three first-team honors.

After overcoming a late-season injury in 2024, Besser returned to the field in 2025 to play in 17 games for the Huskies, making 13 starts. The defender added one assist to his totals, bringing his tally to 13 goals and nine assists for 35 points.

In his career, Besser has helped the Bloomsburg men's soccer team reach unparalleled success, including the team's first NCAA Tournament victory in 2023, a game in which Besser scored the game-winning goal, the team's first-ever PSAC Championship, a program single-season record 15 victories, and the first NCAA Tournament home match in team history.
