Box Score The Huskies hosted another Dynamic Duo Tournament on Saturday.
The women's tennis team started off with doubles against Franklin & Marshall. The team of
Nicole Ilkovic (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy High School) and
Jen McDonald (Melbourne, Australia/Brentwood Secondary College) won their first match of the tournament 4-1, 5-4 (6).
Lia-Sophie Seele (Mülheim, NRW, Germany/Luisenschule) and
Dasha Nakonechna (Spain/IOC) also earned a victory 4-1, 5-3. The duo of
Lily Sierka (Pittsburgh, Pa./Bethel Park) and
Sarah Buck (Hughesville, Pa./Hughesville) won their match up as well 5-3, 5-4 (14). Madeline Delisio and
Macarena Arisio (San Miguel de Tucumán, Argentina/SEADEA) lost their match 5-3, 5-4 (5).
The Huskies then switched to singles competition against Lafayette. Seele lost her match up 4-1, 4-1. Nakonechna also did not win her match, losing 4-2, 4-1. Ilkovic took a victory in her match 4-0, 5-3. Sierka faced defeat, losing 4-0, 5-4 (3). Buck also lost in a hard-fought bout 4-0, 2-4, 10-8. Arisio also went to three sets winning 1-4, 4-1, 10-5. Delisio would end things losing 4-0, 4-2.
The team then played Franklin & Marshall in singles. Seele lost her match 4-2, 4-2. Ilkovic took her third win of the tournament, winning 4-0, 5-3. Sierka was unable to get the win, losing 4-0, 5-4 (3). Buck was also defeated 4-0, 2-4, 10-8. Arisio won her match 4-1, 1-4, 10-5. Delisio ended singles without a win, losing 4-0, 4-2.Â
The Huskies' day ended in doubles against Lafayette. Ilkovic and McDonald lost 6-1. Seele and Nakonechna would also lose 6-1. Sierka and Arisio could not find a way and lost 6-0. Buck and Delisio also couldn't find a way to win, losing 6-0.Â
The Bloomsburg women's tennis team will not have another match until February 28. They will travel to Hersey to face Frostburg State at 5 p.m.
