BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg volleyball team fell in four sets to Wilmington in a non-conference matchup on Saturday afternoon inside the Nelson Field House.

Marlee Johnson (Newville, Pa./Big Spring) and
Katie Kuehl (Aston, Pa./Archmere Academy (Del.)) led the wat for the Huskies in the bout, combining for 35 kills. Johnson notched a season-high 18 while Kuehl posted a season-high attack percentage (.484) with 17 kills.
Jessica Rimbo (Lemont, Ill./Lemont) finished the game with 26 assists while
Erin Clark (Gilbert, Ariz./Gilbert) tallied 25.

Bloomsburg (7-14, 0-8 PSAC) posted 58 kills in the game while Wilmington (15-9, 8-1 CACC) recorded 12 blocks.

A pair of kills from Kuehl in the early goings helped give the Huskies a quick 4-2 lead, though the Wildcats quickly turned the momentum around with a four-point run. The maroon and gold then went on a 9-2 run to take a 13-8 advantage. The run saw kills from
Sophie Wales (Port Matilda, Pa./State College),
Alynna Haggadone (Broomfield, Colo./Legacy),
Clare McKenzie (Foothills County, Alberta/Holy Trinity Academy) and Johnson. Wilmington fought back with a few short runs, but the Huskies were able to hold of the visitors to take the first set, 25-15.

The two sides went point-for-point to start the second set before Wilmington jumped to a 6-3 lead on a four-point run. Another four-point run later in the set moved the score to 12-6. Bloomsburg then kept within three points of the lead for much of the set but a final surge from the Wildcats closed out the set, 25-19.

Wilmington got out to an early lead in the third set, using a 4-0 run to take a 5-3 lead. After the score moved to 9-5, the Huskies notched four-straight to tie the game at 9-9. The two sides continued to battle back and forth throughout the set with the Wildcats slowly edging out the Huskies in the third set, 25-18.

Bloomsburg went point-for-point with the visitors in the fourth set as the scored moved to a 7-7 tie. Wilmington then took hold of the momentum with six-straight points. The Huskies responded with a four-point run of its own, but the deficit proved too large to overcome as Wilmington closed out the contest, 25-19.

The Huskies are right back on the court as the host Roberts Wesleyan at 12 p.m. inside the Nelson Field House.
