Box Score BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg volleyball team took down Roberts Wesleyan in straight sets in a non-conference bout inside the Nelson Field House on Sunday afternoon.

Marlee Johnson (Newville, Pa./Big Spring) led the Huskies with 17 kills while posting a .538 attack percentage.
Sophie Wales (Port Matilda, Pa./State College) recorded the highest attack percentage of the season, with a .647 with 13 kills on 17 attempts.

Erin Clark (Gilbert, Ariz./Gilbert) tallied 36 assists in the contest, falling just shy of matching her own record for assists in a three-set contest.

The first set saw Roberts Wesleyan (2-19) open the scoring with an early kill before Bloomsburg (8-14) responded with a kill from
Katie Kuehl (Aston, Pa./Archmere Academy (Del.)). The two sides traded points for a few rallies before a 9-2 run from the Huskies moved the score to 13-8. The stretch saw Johnson notch four kills. Bloomsburg continued to build its lead throughout the remainder of the set, holding off a four-point run from the Redhawks to take the first set, 25-20.

Roberts Wesleyan posted three straight kills to open the second set, fueling its offense early to take an 8-4 lead. After some back-and-forth exchanges moved the score 12-7, a 7-1 run for the maroon and gold gave the home team a 14-13 lead. Johnson tallied two kills and two aces in the run. The two sides went point-for-point to an 18-18 tie before several two-point scoring outburst from the Huskies handed them a 25-22 victory in the second set.

Bloomsburg and Roberts Wesleyan continued its back-and-forth battle to start the third frame, moving the score to 5-5. The Redhawks took a three-point lead on a trio of errors before a kill from Wales set up
Colleen Doyle (Dublin, Ohio/Dublin Coffman) for a pair of aces to level the score at 8-8. Later in the set, a four-point run put RWU ahead 15-12 but the Huskies responded yet again to tie the contest at 15-15. A six-point run catapulted the Huskies to a 21-17 advantage. Wales notched two more kills as Bloomsburg closed out the game with a 25-19 score in the final set.

The Huskies are on the road for its next contest, as they head to Kutztown on Friday, October 31 for a 6 p.m. start
