LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Bloomsburg volleyball team was selected to finish seventh in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division Preseason Poll, as announced by the conference Thursday afternoon.
The poll was voted on by the league's head coaches, with Shippensburg earning five first-place votes to claim the top spot in the East. Shepherd received two first-place votes and was selected second, followed by defending PSAC champion East Stroudsburg, which received the remaining first-place vote. Kutztown, West Chester and Lock Haven occupy spots four through six, respectively, with Bloomsburg seventh and Millersville eighth.
The Huskies enter their third season under head coach Lee Anderson after posting a 10-18 overall record and a 2-12 mark in PSAC East action in 2025. Bloomsburg closed last season with back-to-back victories and finished seventh in the divisional standings.
Bloomsburg returns several key contributors from last year's squad, including senior Emily Gustie (Crofton, Md./Crofton) and juniors Katie Kuehl (Aston, Pa./Archmere Academy (Del.)) and Jessica Rimbo (Lemont, Ill./Lemont).
Kuehl is the Huskies' top returning attacker after finishing the 2025 campaign with 251 kills across 100 sets. She averaged 2.51 kills per set while hitting .192 and added 35 total blocks. Gustie recorded 171 kills and 251 digs in 81 sets last season while contributing 39 service aces.
Senior Sophie Wales (Port Matilda, Pa./State College) gives the Huskies another experienced presence at the net after appearing in all 103 sets last season. Wales finished with 162 kills while hitting a team-best .311 and added 46 total blocks, including a team-high 15 solo blocks. Redshirt senior Lydia Worthing (Tyrone, Pa./Bellwood Antis) also returns in the middle after recording 72 kills and a team-leading 52 total blocks in 2025.
Rimbo returns to help direct the Bloomsburg offense after finishing second on the team with 382 assists last season. The junior averaged 4.20 assists per set and added 97 digs and 21 service aces. Senior Hannah Au (Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville) provides additional experience in the back row after recording 144 digs in 60 sets a year ago.
The veteran group also includes seniors Julia Holmes (Elkton, Md./Bohemia Manor), Jordan Pryor (Middletown, Md./Middletown), Alynna Haggadone (Broomfield, Colo./Legacy) and Aubrey Pupa (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg). Pryor appeared in 30 sets during her first season with the Huskies after transferring from Shepherd, finishing with 58 kills, 95 digs and 19 service aces.
Bloomsburg also welcomes a sizable group of newcomers to the roster for the 2026 season. The Huskies' freshman class adds depth across the lineup as the program continues to build under Anderson. The incoming class includes freshmen Emma Hudson (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin), Lena Jones (Middletown, Pa./Middletown Area), Addison Arms (Natorna Heights, Pa./Highland), Charlie Mann (Chardon, Ohio/Notre Dame Cathedral Latin), Sara Kokolus (Bethlehem, Pa./Freedom Area), Marley Kline (Clarion, Pa./Clarion Area), Lanna Thomas (McDonald, Pa./South Fayette), Abigail Eagler (Greencastle, Pa./Greencastle-Antrim), and Sicilia Clement (Perkiomenville, Pa./Academy of Notre Dame De Namur) and junior transfer Brooke Borvansky (Round Hill, Va./Woodgrove).
The Huskies open the 2026 campaign with 10 consecutive matches away from Nelson Field House, beginning Friday, Aug. 28, at the Queens/Molloy/Adelphi Invite in New York. Bloomsburg faces Georgian Court at 2:30 p.m. in its season opener before taking on Molloy later that evening. The Huskies complete the opening weekend against Wayne State and Queens on Saturday, Aug. 29.
Bloomsburg follows its opening weekend with trips to the Thomas Jefferson Invite and Slippery Rock Invite before returning home to begin PSAC East competition. The Huskies host Lock Haven at Nelson Field House on Friday, Sept. 18, at 6 p.m. in both their home and conference opener before welcoming Kutztown the following afternoon.
The 2026 regular season concludes with a pair of home matches against Millersville on Friday, Nov. 6, and West Chester on Saturday, Nov. 7. The PSAC Tournament is scheduled to begin Nov. 9, with the conference semifinals and championship match set for Nov. 14-15 at the top seed from the Western Division.
