LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - Two members of the Bloomsburg women's soccer team received all-conference honors, as announced by the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Tuesday morning.
The Huskies' honorees include junior forward Anika Krasnai (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) and senior Samantha Merklin (Effort, Pa./Pleasant Valley) as All-PSAC East Second Team selections. The new recipients mark 37 overall under the guidance of head coach Matt Haney in his 11Â seasons at Bloomsburg.
Krasnai earns second-team distinction after an emerging season along the wing for the Huskies in 2025. The junior set new career highs with two goals and three assists to match her total production from her two prior seasons. Krasnai received PSAC East Athlete of the Week honors on October 13, after recording a goal and an assist to help Bloomsburg to a win in the regular season over Millersville. Krasnai finished tied for second on the team with three assists and was one of eight players to record multiple goals. The junior finished with seven points in her third-year campaign.
Merklin further establishes herself in a long history of goalkeepers in Bloomsburg women's soccer history with her second All-PSAC nod. In her second season with the Huskies, Merklin made her second consecutive all-conference team and the third overall in her collegiate career. The Effort, Pa. native is the sixth goalkeeper in program history to become a two-two all-conference honoree. Merklin had another strong statistical season defending the net for the Huskies. Merklin has 81 saves in 18 matches this season for a 0.818 save percentage. The senior has allowed 18 goals this season for a 1.05 goals against average. Merklin is ninth in school history with 14.5 career shutouts. The junior was named the PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Week twice this season.Â
