ATHENS, W.Va. - Kody Besser (Lacey Township, N.J./Lacey Township) of the Bloomsburg men's soccer team continued to collect career accolades with his selection to the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) Atlantic All-Region team. The D2CCA all-region teams are voted on by sports information directors in their respective regions.
The senior defender has pieced together a tremendous four seasons with the Huskies, making 71 appearances and 67 starts. The Lacey Township, N.J. native has been a valuable asset for the Huskies on both ends of the field, tallying 13 goals and nine assists for 35 career points. Besser's legacy along the backline helped Bloomsburg reached unparalleled success in the program's history, including the team's first NCAA Tournament win in 2023, the first PSAC Championship in 2024, and the first home NCAA Tournament match.
Besser's resume builds with his third D2CCA All-Region honor. Besser becomes the only player in program history to be a three-time D2CCA All-Region honoree. Besser became only the third player in team history to be a four-time All-PSAC honoree this season and is one of just six to be a multiple-time first-team recipient, becoming a three-time first-team member earlier this month. Besser's return to form in 2025 comes following a scary late-season injury in 2024 that took the All-America defender out of the Huskies' squad for its postseason run a season ago. Offensively, the senior had one assist while helping the Huskies to a top-10 defensive record for the second consecutive season. Besser was once named the PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Week in 2025.
