BLOOMSBURG, Pa. -Â The Bloomsburg women's basketball team fell to Indiana University of Pennsylvania 63-46 at the Nelson Field House.
The Huskies struggled from the field, only shooting 28.6% (16-for-56). They also struggled from deep, making four shots out of 20. The team also turned the ball over 23 times.
Maddie LaFrance (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) led the way for the Huskies with 13 points. She would be the only player to score double digits.
Ava Stevenson (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Trinity) and
Maddison Maynard (Lansford, Pa./Panther Valley) both scored six points,
Kelly Leszcynski (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth) scored five points and
Alison Hatajik (Duncansville, Pa./Hollidaysburg) scored four.
Off of the bench,
Olivia Selverian (Marlton, N.J./Cherokee) scored the most with six points,
Kash Santos (Bethlehem, Pa./Bethlehem Catholic) scored four and
Lex Ferguson (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) scored two.Â
First Half:
In the first quarter, the Huskies made their first field goal halfway through the first quarter with LaFrance making two threes in a row to put them up 8-7 with 3:17 left. After a successful jumper from Selverian to end the quarter with the Huskies up by two 10-8.Â
After a three from Maynard and a jumper from Leszcynski early in the second quarter, the Huskies' shooting troubles continued. They could not score another point until 3:50 left. After being down by nine, Maynard would shift the momentum with a layup to re-ignite the Huskies. With a couple of successful shots from LaFrance, Leszcynski and some free throws from Selverian, the Huskies would bring the lead down to 28-26 to end the first half.
Second Half:Â
Bloomsburg could not keep up with the Crimson Hawks in the third as IUP brought the lead up to as much as 13. Bloomsburg only made five field goals. The quarter ended with IUP up 47-37.
Bloomsburg struggled the most in the fourth, making only two field goals. LaFrance made a three while Stevenson made a jumper. After some free throws from Santos, the game ended 63-46.

The Huskies will be back in the field house to take on Seton Hill on Dec. 21.Â
