Men's Basketball Downed by Millersville on the Road

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – The Bloomsburg men's basketball team fell on the road to Millersville, 88-68, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) contest inside the Pucillo Gymnasium on Wednesday night.

Tony Henderson (Pittsburgh, Pa./Taylor Allderdice) dropped a career-high 25 points on 11-for-17 shooting in the contest. The senior guard also recorded three rebounds, two assists and two steals. Louie Wild (Philadelphia, PA/Roman Catholic) went 3-for-5 from beyond the arc in a 13-point effort while notching a team-high four assists. Kent Olewiler (York, Pa./William Penn) came off the bench and tallied 10 points, five rebounds and a block. Overall, the Huskies shot 28-for-63 (44.4 percent) in the contest.

Jahme Ested got Millersville (16-9, 12-7 PSAC) on the board in the games' opening-possession just 19 seconds in. Bloomsburg responded with two points of its own on a fast break layup from Henderson. The Marauders surged ahead on a seven-point swing and held that lead for the remainder of the first half.

Trailing by nine with four minute to play in the frame, three-pointers from Wild and Olewiler and a layup from Henderson put the Huskies within one. However, back-to-back triples from Alec Topper held advance the home team's lead late, taking a 39-35 lead into halftime.

The second half saw the two sides trade three-pointers on the opening possessions before Millersville took advantage on misses to advance its lead to double-digits.  A 12-5 run from the Marauders pushed their lead to 17 points with eight minutes to play. Bloomsburg was unable to cut down on the lead, dropping the game, 88-68.

The Huskies return to Nelson Field House on Saturday, February 22 for Senior Day and the final home game of the season against West Chester at 3 p.m.
