HERSHEY, Pa. – The Bloomsburg women's tennis team got back to the courts for the spring semester on Saturday afternoon and opened the second half of the year with a 6-1 win over Frostburg State.

Jen McDonald (Melbourne, Australia/Brentwood Secondary College) and
Lily Sierka () got a win to open the match at No. 3 doubles by forfeit.
Dasha Nakonechna (Spain/IOC) and
Lia-Sophie Seele (Mülheim, NRW, Germany/Luisenschule) clinched the doubles point for Bloomsburg with a 7-5 win at No. 2 doubles. The Bobcats were not swept in the opening matches, however, as Frostburg won at No. 1 doubles, 7-5.

Sierka got her second win of the day by forfeit at No. 6 singles to give Bloomsburg a 2-0 lead. Seele pushed the Huskies' lead to 3-0 with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 5 singles.
Frostburg staved off the match point with a 6-0, 6-4 win at No. 1 singles.

Nicole Ilkovic (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy High School) clinched the match for Bloomsburg with a 6-1, 7-5 win at No. 2 singles. Nakonechna won her second match of the day with a 6-4, 3-6, 1-0 (6) win at No. 4 singles. McDonald finished out the day for the Huskies with a 6-5. 3-6, 1-0 (5) win at No. 3 singles.

Bloomsburg returns to action next Saturday when the Huskies host Salem University in Hershey, Pa.
