BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – With 3:47 to play in the fourth,
Emily Simpson (North Wales, Pa./Lansdale Catholic) scored her ninth goal of the year to put the Huskies up for good and complete the come-back win for Bloomsburg lacrosse. The Huskies held on for a 13-11 win over Shepherd in PSAC East action, Saturday afternoon.

At the 4:20 mark in the fourth and the game tied, 11-11,
Lauren Foley (Schwenksville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) made a point-blank save on a shot from Kelsey King to set up a successful clear for the Huskies.
Mia Boccippio (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough) got the ball behind the cage and found Simpson who was charging in front for what proved to the game-winning goal with 3:46 left in regulation.

Bloomsburg won the ensuing draw control but the Huskies and Rams traded turnovers before the ball eventually stayed with Bloomsburg.
Brianna Austin (Plymouth Meeting, Pa./Plymouth Whitemarsh) drew a foul in front of the cage with 1:37 to go to earn a free position shot. Austin took advantage of the opportunity and scored her 11
th of the year to put the Huskies up 13-11.

After Shepherd won the next draw, the Rams got a free position shot of their own but Foley spoiled the shot attempt to give the ball back to Bloomsburg. After a successful clear, the Huskies turned the ball over but the Rams had a turnover of their own with 16 seconds to play and
Sophia Zelasko (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth Area) picked up the ground ball to seal the win for the Huskies.

Reiley Knize (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton) got the Huskies on the board first 1:52 into action in the first with her sixth of the season before Shepherd rattled off five straight goals in the quarter to a take a 5-1 lead after 15 minutes of action.

Simpson and
Marykate Sitko (Pennsburg, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) scored back-to-back goals to kick off the second quarter and cut the lead to 5-3. Shepherd got on the board in the period with a goal from King with 8:01 to play before Austin cut the lead back to two with her 10
th of the season at the 5:30 mark. The Rams ended the quarter with a goal from Aubrey Harrison with just 25 seconds before halftime to take a 7-4 lead into the break.

Boccippio got the Huskies off to a hot start in the third quarter with a goal just 14 seconds into action after the Huskies won the draw. The goal from Boccippio kicked off a three-goal run for the Huskies, including one from Sitko and another Boccippio goal to tie the game at 7-7.

The Rams answered with three-straight of their own to re-take a 10-7 lead with 1:24 to play in the third. Boccippio and Sitko went back-to-back to end the third and get the Huskies within one, 10-9, before Sitko opened the fourth quarter with her team-leading 28
th goal fo the year to tie the game again. Katie Paredes gave the Rams their final lead of the game with 7:33 to play in the third before the Huskies closed out the game on a three-goal run.

Boccippio led the Huskies with five points behind four goals and an assist while Sitko had four goals to go with her two caused turnovers and three ground balls. Simpson had two goals and two assists for four points. Simpson led the team with four draw controls and a ground ball.

Defensively, Knize led the Huskies with three caused turnovers and had two ground balls while
Mikayla Viola (Allentown, Pa./Emmaus) and Foley had four ground balls each.
Foley finished the game with 10 saves in the win for the Huskies.

The Huskies return to action on Wednesday, March 26 when they travel to East Stroudsburg for a 2:00 p.m. PSAC East contest against the Warriors.
