BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg women's tennis team improved to 6-2 on the year with a 4-3 win over Jefferson in non-conference action, Tuesday afternoon.

The Huskies opened the scoring with the doubles point win after winning at No. 3 and No. 2 doubles.
Alyssa Mazurek (McAdoo, PA/Hazleton Area) and
Nicole Ilkovic (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy High School) opened the day with a 6-1 win at No. 3 before
Dasha Nakonechna (Spain/IOC) and
Lia-Sophie Seele (Mülheim, NRW, Germany/Luisenschule) clinched the match's first point with a 6-4 win at No. 2 doubles. The Rams won 6-4 at No. 1 singles to avoid the sweep.

Seele won her second match of the day and gave the Huskies a 2-0 lead with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 5 singles. Jefferson earned its first point of the day with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles and tied the match with a 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 2 singles.

Jen McDonald (Melbourne, Australia/Brentwood Secondary College) gave the lead back to the Huskies with a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 3 singles but the Rams staved off match point with a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 4 singles.

Lily Sierka () won the match for the Huskies with a 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 6 singles to clinch the fourth team point.

The Huskies return to action on Friday, March 28 when they travel to D'Youville for a 4:30 p.m. non-conference match in Buffalo, N.Y.
