Box Score EDINBORO, Pa. – The Bloomsburg women's tennis team defeated Edinboro in a thriller that came down to the final match Saturday afternoon. The Huskies gutted out a 4-3 win over the Fighting Scots in non-conference action.

The Huskies won the first two doubles matches to clinch the opening point of the day.
Dasha Nakonechna (Spain/IOC) and
Lia-Sophie Seele (Mülheim, NRW, Germany/Luisenschule) won 6-4 at No. 2 doubles before Alexis Quackenbush and
Nicole Ilkovic (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy High School) won 6-4 at No. 1 to secure the doubles point. The Fighting Scots won 6-4 at No. 3 doubles to avoid the opening matches sweeps.

The Fighting Scots tied the match at 1-1 with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles before Luciana Ponce gave Edinboro a 2-1 lead with a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 2 singles.

Lily Sierka () tied the match at 2-2 with a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 6 singles and the Fighting Scots came back with a 1-6, 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 4 singles to take a 3-2 lead.
Jen McDonald (Melbourne, Australia/Brentwood Secondary College) battled for the Huskies to tie the match at 3-3 with a 7-6, 6-3 win at No. 3 singles.

Sophie-Seele had one of her strongest matches of the season as she took the first set 6-3 at No. 5 singles. She won the match for the Huskies with a 7-6 (7-5) win in the second set to send the Huskies home with a 4-3 match win.

The Huskies get back to action on Wednesday when they host Binghamton in a non-conference match at 3:00 p.m. at the Burt Reese Tennis Center.
