WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The Bloomsburg baseball team fell a pair of Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) contests to nationally-ranked West Chester on Friday afternoon.

Greg Cristino (Haddonfield, N.J./Haddonfield Memorial) led the Huskies with three hits on the day.
Brady Ebbert (Etters, Pa./Red Land) notched two hits and two RBIs. Overall, Bloomsburg (14-23, 4-14 PSAC East) posted 12 hits on the day.

Game One – West Chester 7, Bloomsburg 3

No. 20/22 West Chester (30-9, 12-6) jumped ahead early, launching a pair of two-run home runs in the first inning to take a 4-0 lead. A sacrifice fly from Austin Stalker in the second advanced the Golden Rams' lead to 5-0.

The Huskies broke the shutout in the fourth as an RBI-double from
Jeremy Cawley (Duryea, Pa./Pittston Area) scored Cristino. In the subsequent at-bat, Ebbert sent the first pitch through the right side to score Cawley and
Ben Jones (Fallschurch, Va./George C. Marshall).

WCU responded in the bottom of the frame with a sacrifice fly before tacking on an extra run in the sixth to make it 7-3.

Brian Walsh (Scranton, Pa./Scranton Prep) picked up the game one loss, going four innings while striking out four batters.
Matthew Marsten (Quakertown, Pa./Quakertown) allowed one hit and one unearned run in two innings pitched.

Game Two – West Chester 7, Bloomsburg 1

Bloomsburg got on the board in the first inning, as
Corey Daniels (Forest City, Pa./Forest City) scored on a fielding error from the shortstop.

West Chester responded with five runs in the bottom of the first. RBI-singles in the third and fifth moved the Golden Rams' advantage to 7-1.

Cristino and
Mike Miller (Lafayette Hill, Pa./Plymouth Whitemarsh) each posted a double in game two while Daniels and Jons each tallied a hit.

Scott Gilbert (Scranton, Pa./Abington Heights) got the start for Bloomsburg, allowing five runs on four hits in two-thirds innings pitched.
Pete Modrovsky (Honesdale, Pa./Honesdale) gave up five hits and two runs in 4.1 innings pitched.

The Huskies return to action on Saturday, April 19 as they host Senior Day against West Chester at 1 p.m.
