BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg baseball team honored its ten seniors with a doubleheader split against nationally-ranked West Chester in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) clash on Saturday afternoon.

Dansby Keenan (Cleveland Heights, Oh./Benedictine) notched a team-leading five RBIs on three hits in game one, falling a double short of completing the cycle.
Jacob Reifer (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia Area),
Greg Cristino (Haddonfield, N.J./Haddonfield Memorial),
Eli Riley (Harrisburg, Pa./Mercersburg Academy) and
Mike Miller (Lafayette Hill, Pa./Plymouth Whitemarsh) each recorded multiple hits on the day. Overall, Bloomsburg (12-24, 5-15 PSAC East) tallied 17 hits on the day, with 14 in the opener.

Game One - Bloomsburg 13, West Chester 8

Daniel Koppisch (Philadelphia, Pa./Central) started the contest off strong, retiring the side with a pair of strikeouts in the first inning. Koppisch picked up four more strikeouts as the game remained scoreless through the top of the third.

Riley and
Christian LaBarbera (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) started the bottom of the third with back-to-back singles before
Corey Daniels (Forest City, Pa./Forest City) won an eight-pitch at-bat to load the bases. In the subsequent at-bat,
Brady Ebbert (Etters, Pa./Red Land) brought in a run while drawing a walk. A sacrifice fly put the Huskies ahead 2-0. A right-field single from
Drew Balestrini (Sunbury, Pa./Shikellamy) scored Daniels before Reifer loaded the bases once again. Keenan lined a two-RBI single up the middle to push the Huskies lead to 5-0.

A three-run home run in the top of the fifth highlighted an eight-run frame for West Chester (31-10, 13-7).

Keenan continued his success at the plate with a two-out, two-RBI triple to center field in the fifth to pull the maroon and gold within one.

Cristino tied the contest for Bloomsburg in the bottom of the sixth with sacrifice fly. From there, the Huskies began its' two-out rally. M. Miller gave Bloomsburg the lead with a double down the left field line, scoring Ebbert. Reifer then scored pinch runner
Anthony Trommer (Trevose, Pa./Neshaminy) with a single to left field. A center field double from
Josh Wilson (Clinton, Md./Bishop McNamara) brought Reifer home from first base to put the Huskies up 11-8.

Keenan's bat stayed hot as he sent a two-run home run over the centerfield fence for the game's final runs.

Starting pitcher
Daniel Koppisch (Philadelphia, Pa./Central) went 4.2 innings, striking out six batters. Koppisch gave up seven runs on six hits.

Senior
Riley Powers (Vidalia, Ga./Vidalia) picked up his fourth win of the season after allowing just one run on three hits.

Game Two – West Chester 7, Bloomsburg 1

After a lightning delay pushed the start of nightcap to 5:20 p.m., the contest went scoreless through the first two frames before a two-RBI single from Austin Stalker put WCU on the board. A two-RBI triple from Casey Vaughan doubled the Golden Rams lead before a sacrifice fly from Caleb Strawhecker advanced the score to 5-0.

West Chester tacked on another run in the fourth with a single to the shortstop from Anthony Boccio.

M. Miller broke the shutout in the bottom of the fourth, launching a solo home run into the trees in left field.

WCU tacked on one final run in the sixth with a double from Sean Szestowicki.

Brandon Wozniak (Nanticoke, Pa./Nanticoke Area) went six innings in the loss, allowing seven runs on 10 hits.
Landon Lorson (South Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport) struck out one batter in an inning of relief.

Bloomsburg is back in action on Tuesday, April 22 for a non-conference, road contest against Lock Haven at 2 p.m.
