LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Bloomsburg baseball team picked up a non-conference, road victory against Lock Haven, 9-4, on Tuesday afternoon.

Bloomsburg (16-24) tallied 10 hits on the day from seven different batters in the win. Catcher
Drew Balestrini (Sunbury, Pa./Shikellamy) delivered three hits with a pair of doubles while designated hitter
Mike Miller (Lafayette Hill, Pa./Plymouth Whitemarsh) tallied a pair of hits on the day. A total of 13 drawn walks helped consistently keep runners on base for the Huskies.

Balestrini put the maroon and gold on the board in the first, scoring
Corey Daniels (Forest City, Pa./Forest City) on a two-out single down the left-field line.

Lock Haven (15-25) responded in the bottom of the frame with an RBI-double down the left-field line.

A bases-loaded single up the middle from
Greg Cristino (Haddonfield, N.J./Haddonfield Memorial) in the second drove home
Josh Wilson (Clinton, Md./Bishop McNamara) and
Jeremy Cawley (Duryea, Pa./Pittston Area) to put Bloomsburg ahead 3-1. A sacrifice fly from
Dansby Keenan (Cleveland Heights, Oh./Benedictine) scored Balestrini to extend the lead in the third.

The Huskies scored twice in the fifth, beginning with Wilson scoring on a throwing error from the catcher. An RBI-single to second base from Daniels scored Cawley from third.

The Bald Eagles scored twice in the bottom of the fifth before Bloomsburg posted its seventh of the game on a wild pitch.

An RBI-single in the bottom of the sixth pulled Lock Haven back within three.

Back-to-back RBI-doubles from Balestrini and
Jacob Reifer (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia Area) scored Miller and
Casey O'Brien (Moosic, Pa./Riverside) put the Huskies up 9-4 before they held on for the win.

Bloomsburg used five pitchers in the contest, with starter
Brian Walsh (Scranton, Pa./Scranton Prep) earning the victory with just one run on two hits in two innings. The Huskies bullpen combined for eight strikeouts and just four runs.

Mason Curtier was pinned with the loss for Lock Haven allowing three runs and four walks in two innings.

Bloomsburg returns to action on Friday, April 25 for a 1 p.m. doubleheader against Mansfield. Â
