Jacob Reifer (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia Area) posted eight RBIs on the day, highlighted by a grand slam in the first inning of the series. A game two home run from Nathan Kress (Lansdale, Pa./La Salle College H.S.) capped off a three-hit day for the red-shirt freshman.

Game One – Bloomsburg 19, Mansfield 7

The maroon and gold started the day on a high note, as a pair of walks and a throwing error loaded the bases early. Drew Balestrini (Sunbury, Pa./Shikellamy) brought in the first run of the day contest, drawing a walk to score Corey Daniels (Forest City, Pa./Forest City). In the subsequent at-bat, Reifer got a hold of a 3-1 pitch and sent it off the scoreboard in left field for a grand slam.

Bloomsburg managed to load the bases one more time in the first, allowing Ebbert to clear the bases with a right-field double. The Huskies scored eight runs in the first one three hits and an error.

Mansfield (13-26, 7-15) responded in the top of the second on a single down the right field line to make it 8-2.

The third saw Kress lead of the frame with a double down the right field line before Ebbert drew a walk. Mike Miller (Lafayette Hill, Pa./Plymouth Whitemarsh) then extended the Huskies lead with a three-run home run to left centerfield. Later in the frame, Reifer scored Greg Cristino (Haddonfield, N.J./Haddonfield Memorial) on a single to the shortstop.

A three-run fifth inning from the Mountaineers pulled the score to 12-5 before setting the stage for Bloomsburg to respond in the bottom of the fifth.
