BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg women's tennis team won its sixth-straight match with a 4-0 rain-shortened win over Millersville, Saturday. The Huskies improved to 11-2 on the year and 4-0 in conference play with their Senior Day win.
Jen McDonald (Melbourne, Australia/Brentwood Secondary College) and
Lily Sierka () opened the match for Bloomsburg with a walkover win at No. 3 doubles and
Dasha Nakonechna (Spain/IOC) and
Lia-Sophie Seele (Mülheim, NRW, Germany/Luisenschule) clinched the doubles point with a 6-4 win at No. 2.
Lexi Quackenbush (Pittsburgh, PA/Fox Chapel) and
Nicole Ilkovic (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy High School) finished off the doubles sweep with a 6-3 win at No. 1.
Alyssa Mazurek (McAdoo, PA/Hazleton Area) picked up a walkover win at No. 6 singles before Quackenbush earned her second victory of the day with a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles. Seele clinched the win for the Huskies with a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 4 singles.
Ilkovic was down 3-0 in set three at No. 2 singes and McDonald and her opponent each won at set at No. 3 singles before the rain came. Sierka was up 5-4 in the second set after dropping the first 6-3 at No. 5 singles when the match was called.
The Huskies return to action on Tuesday, April 22 when they host Chestnut Hill in a non-conference match at 3:00 p.m. before finishing out the regular season at East Stroudsburg on April 23 and Shippensburg on April 26.
