BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg men's tennis team earned its first conference win of the spring with a 7-0 shutout of West Chester, Friday afternoon. The Huskies improved to 6-2 on the year and 1-0 in PSAC play while the Golden Rams dropped to 0-12 and 0-2 in conference action.
The Huskies opened the match with a 1-0 lead thanks to clinching the doubles point.
Denis Dementev (Saint-Petersburg, Russia/) and
Iu Casamitjana (Igualada, Spain/Escola Pia Igualada) won 6-4 at No. 2 doubles and Fernado Barros and
Jaime Soria (Pamplona, Spain/Liceo Monjardin) grabbed a 6-2 win at No. 3 doubles. The Golden Rams avoided a complete sweep with a 6-4 win at No. 1 doubles.

Dementev picked up his second win of the day with a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles and Casamitjana won at No. 3 singles for his second win of the day. After dropped the first set, 7-6, Casamitjana came back to win 6-2, 1-0 in the final two sets.

Soria won 6-2, 6-2 at No. 5 singles and Barros won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 6 for their second wins of the day as well.

Vishesh Patel (Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India/Asia English School) won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2 singles and
Albert Martin (Barcelona/Instituto Menendez y Pelayo) picked up a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 4 singles as they each picked up a win on the day.
The Huskies return to action next Saturday when they travel to Shepherd in for a PSAC East match on Saturday, April 12.
