BLOOMSBURG, Pa – The Bloomsburg women's tennis team finished the regular season as the top team in the PSAC East and claimed the regular season title as well as the No. 1 seed in the East for the 2025 PSAC Women's Tennis Championship tournament. The Huskies finished the year with a 13-2 overall record and a perfect 6-0 record in PSAC East action.

PSAC TOURNAMENT SO FAR
The 2025 PSAC Women's Tennis Tournament opened on Monday, April 28 and Tuesday April 29 with the quarterfinal matches. On the West, No. 2 Slippery Rock defeated No. 3 California (Pa.) 4-0. On the East, No. 2 East Stroudsburg defeated No. 3 Millersville, 4-1. Slippery Rock and ESU move on to play in the semifinals, held in Bloomsburg at the Burt Reese Tennis Center. Â

SCOUTING THE HUSKIES
Jen McDonald (Melbourne, Australia/Brentwood Secondary College) is having a stellar campaign for the Huskies with a 10-2 overall record, including a near-perfect 9-1 slate at No. 3 singles. McDonald has clinched the match point in the last regular season matches for the Huskies.
Lily Sierka () is 11-1 on the year and has a 7-1 record at No. 6 singles for the Huskies.
Lia-Sophie Seele (Mülheim, NRW, Germany/Luisenschule) is currently 11-1 as well and has split time between No. 4 singles and No. 5 singles. Seele is 5-0 at No. 4 and 5-1 at No. 5.
Nicole Ilkovic (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy High School) is 9-3 this year with a 7-3 record at No. 2 singles and
Dasha Nakonechna (Spain/IOC) is 7-4 this year with a 4-0 record at No. 5 singles.
Lexi Quackenbush (Pittsburgh, PA/Fox Chapel) is 5-7 overall and 5-7 at No. 1 singles for the Huskies.

As a team, Bloomsburg is 65-20 in dual match single play this year and 33-5 in conference singles matches.

The doubles team of Nakonechna and Seele is 12-1 overall this season and a perfect 5-0 in conference play. The pair is 11-1 at No. 2 doubles and 1-0 at No. 1. They have won their last six matches together and are 9-1 in their last 10. Ilkovic and Quackenbush are 6-4 as a doubles team with a 6-4 record at No. 1. McDonald and
Alyssa Mazurek (McAdoo, PA/Hazleton Area) are 5-1 in doubles action and have a 3-1 record at No. 3 and a 2-0 record at No. 2.

The Huskies are 32-10 as a team in doubles play and boast an 18-2 record in PSAC doubles matches.

SCOUTING SLIPPERY ROCK
Slippery Rock enters the semifinal action as the No.3 seed in the Atlantic Region and the No. 2 seed from the West. The Rock defeated California (Pa.) 4-0 to advance to championship weekend.

Amala Balaguer Brau is one of the top players in the PSAC and Atlatic Region and lead the Rock at No. 1 singles. In dual matches, she is 15-5 on the year and has a 24-8 overall singles record. Alissia Kivi boasts a 20-7 overall singles record, including a 13-3 slate at No. 2 singles. Nicole Kempton is currently 18-8 overall in singles matches and. 13-3 at No. 3. Dari Sakhanova is 19-9 overall and 11-5 at No. 5 singles while tina Slovak is 12-9 for the year and 9-6 at No. 4 singles. Georgie Lancaster is 13-11 overall and is currently 9-8 at No. 6 singles.

As a team, the Rock is 111-59 in singles matches, including an 80-37 slate in dual matches.

Kempton and Kivi have been dominant in doubles play with a 24-6 overall record and a 14-4 record at No. 1 doubles. Brau and Slovak are 16-3 at No. 2 doubles while Lancaster and Sakhanova is 10-7 overall at No. 3 doubles.

The Rock won the doubles point in 15 of their 20 matches and have a 44-14 record in dual match doubles action. The Rock posted a 17-1 PSAC doubles record this season.

THE REST OF THE TOURNAMENT
The No. 1 seed from the West, IUP, will take on the No. 2 seed in the East, East Stroudsburg in the other semifinals match. IUP received a bye into the semifinals while ESU defeated Millersville for its spot in championship weekend.

IUP enters the weekend with a 13-6 overall record and posted a 6-0 slate in conference play. ESU comes into the weekend with a 18-6 record and finished the season with a 5-1 PSAC East slate.

The winner of the two semifinal matches will square off Friday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. in the PSAC Tournament Championship match. The title match was originally scheduled for Saturday at 10:00 a.m. but is moved in hopes to avoid rain that is scheduled to come through central Pennsylvania on Saturday.

REGIONAL RANKINGS
The Huskies enter the weekend ranked #7 in the Atlantic Region in the latest NCAA Regional rankings. Bloomsburg is one of four teams from the PSAC in the latest regional rankings with IUP checking in at No. 2 while Slippery Rock is No. 3. California (Pa.) is currently sitting at No. 8.

Conference Tournament champions from the PSAC, Mountain East Conference and Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association as well as the next four highest ranked teams in the region at the end of year qualify for the NCAA Tournament.
