BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg tennis team has announced its captains for the 2025-26 season. Leading the men's team is
Landon Wall (Tabernacle, N.J./Seneca High School) and
Sergio Dilan (San Juan, Puerto Rico/Cedin) while
Lia-Sophie Seele (Mülheim, NRW, Germany/Luisenschule) and
Maddie Delisio (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin High School) will serve as the captains for the women's team.
Wall finished the year 3-5 in singles action after working his way into the Huskies' lineup. He has been a steady fixture on the Bloomsburg men's tennis team since his freshman season in 2022-23.
"Landon has fought hard for three years to earn his spot on a very strong and deep team," remarked head coach
Rebecca Helt. "It takes a very committed player to keep working toward their goals. I think Landon earned the respect of his teammates because he never gave up working hard and when the right moment called on him, he was ready, and he answered the call. We're looking for Landon to keep the energy and work ethic high."
Dilan had a strong junior campaign for the Huskies with a 2-5 record in singles matches and a 13-11 record in doubles play with
Vishesh Patel (Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India/Asia English School) and
Albert Martin (Barcelona/Instituto Menendez y Pelayo).
"Sergio is one of our most talented athletes," continued Coach Helt. "He had some unfortunate injuries that plagued him off and on, but he accepted whatever role was given to him. He made the most out of his role at number one doubles for the past couple of years, a role that proved to make a difference in our results as a team. Last season he finished ranked in the top 10 of the Atlantic Region with his partner
Vishesh Patel (Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India/Asia English School). I think Serge has a great deal of experience to share with the younger players. He's always been a big help to me and a big asset to our team."
Delisio went 4-3 in doubles action, including a 3-2 record in tournament play, and was 6-0 overall in doubles action. Delisio and
Lily Sierka () were 5-0 last year.
"From day one, Maddie has been one of our most consistent and committed team members," said Coach Helt. "As an athlete who has not had a steady starting position, she has never let that hold her back from doing the extra work. Maddie is always the first to motivate her teammates during a tough match or practice. Sometimes we need that person who can dig deep during the most difficult times and inspire those around them to do the same. Maddie is that person. I have no doubt Maddie will be our steady voice of reason this year."
Seele finished the year with a 15-4 record in singles to earn her second All-PSAC Second Team nod. She was 11-1 in dual matches and a perfect 6-0 against PSAC opponents. She split her time between No. 5 and No. 6 singles and was 10-1 between the two spots. Seele ended the year riding a 10-match winning streak in completed matches and was named Second Team All-PSAC East in singles.
"Lia-Sophie captures the teams respect every time she takes the court. She is the definition of confidence when she competes. Lia-Sophie is a leader by the example she sets every day; always positive, always motivated, and always determined to do her best for the team. I can't wait to see what new level she reaches personally as well as the new level she helps our team reach this year as a captain."
