Iu Casamitjana (Igualada, Spain/Escola Pia Igualada) and
Denis Dementev (Saint-Petersburg, Russia/) dominate in the Dynamic Duo Tournament at the Burt Reese Tennis Center last weekend.
In the top flight in the tournament, the pair would sweep the first round winning 3-0. In the second round, Casamitjana and Dementev earned a 2-1 victory, punching their ticket to the finals. The two would win the flight 2-1.
Alex Higuera and
Jaime Soria (Pamplona, Spain/Liceo Monjardin) would also impress in the tournament. The two played in the second flight and swept the competition in the first round 3-0. The two would earn a spot in the finals of the flight winning 2-1.
Jack Seaborn () and
Sergio Dilan (San Juan, Puerto Rico/Cedin) also played in this flight, winning the first round 2-1. With the opportunity to face a familiar opponent in the finals, the duo would lose in the second round 3-0.
In the third flight,
Landon Wall (Tabernacle, N.J./Seneca High School) and
Nicolas Mustea () earned a victory in the first round 3-0. They would then fall short in the second round losing 2-1.
The men's tennis team won't be in action until the ITA Atlantic Regional Tournament. This four-day tournament will be held in Bloomsburg on October 2, 3, 4 and 5.
