Bloomsburg defeated both California, 5-2, and Seton Hill, 6-1, in a double header in California, Pennsylvania to continue their unbeaten streak.
Match 1
The Huskies lost doubles all three flights in doubles competition.
Macarena Arisio (San Miguel de Tucumán, Argentina/SEADEA) and
Lily Sierka (/) lost 6-1 in the No. 3 flight, Â
Dasha Nakonechna (Spain/IOC) and
Lia-Sophie Seele (Mülheim, NRW, Germany/Luisenschule) would fall in the second flight 6-3 andÂ
Nicole Ilkovic (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy High School) and
Jen McDonald (Melbourne, Australia/Brentwood Secondary College) lost a close bout in the top flight 7-5.
In singles competition, Sierka took the win in the No. 5 flight 6-0, 6-1.
Sarah Buck () almost swept the No. 6 flight, winning 6-0, 6-1. Nakonechna would fall in the top flight 6-2, 6-1.Â
In the third flight, it was a close one, but Ilkovic took the victory 6-4, 7-6. McDonald got the victory in the fourth flight 6-2, 7-6. Seele ended the match with a close victory, winning 6-4, 7-6.Â
Match 2
In the second match of the day for the Huskies excelled in doubles.Â
The team of
Maddie Delisio (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin High School) and Buck won the third flight 6-1. In the second flight, Ilkovic and Sierka took a close victory, winning 7-6 (7-4) to secure the point for Bloomsburg. The duo of Seele and Nakonechna would then take the top flight 6-4.
In singles competition, Arisio swept the No. 6 flight 6-0, 6-0. Buck followed Arisio by sweeping the No. 5 flight as well 6-0, 6-0. Sierka would be the third Husky to sweep the competition as she won 6-0, 6-0 in the fourth flight.Â
Ilkovic earned a victory in the No. 3 flight, winning 6-1, 6-0. Seele played well too as she won 6-1, 6-2. Singles ended with a the only loss of the afternoon for Bloomsburg as Nakonechna lost 6-1, 7-6 (8-6).
The Huskies will return home in a four-day tournament on October 2, 3, 4 and 5 to play in the ITA Atlantic Regional Tournament.
