BLOOMSBURG, Pa. – The Bloomsburg men's basketball team held off Mansfield, 72-61, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) contest inside the Nelson Field House on Wednesday night.

Bloomsburg (5-12, 2-9 PSAC) went 25-for-65 (38.5 percent) from the floor while holding Mansfield (1-16, 0-11) to 18-for-56 shooting (32.1 percent). The Huskies shot 42.11 percent (16-for-38) in the first half while draining five three pointers.

Ries Naugle (Selinsgrove, Pa./Selinsgrove Area) led Bloomsburg with 17 points on 7-of-17 shooting. The redshirt-freshman went 3-for-6 from beyond the arc and posted three assists, three rebounds and a block.
Camden Glass (Beaver Falls, Pa./Beaver Falls) notched a career-high 13 points and five rebounds. The redshirt-senior shattered his previous career-high of four points by going 5-for-5 from the floor and 3-for 4 from the line.
George Sabatini (Mountain Top, Pa./Holy Redeemer) hauled in a team-leading ten rebounds while recording four assists and two steals.

An early block from
Courtney Davis II (Gainesville, Va./Patriot) set the tone just twelve seconds in. The maroon and gold quickly worked its way up the floor, setting up
Gabe Springer (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Wallenpaupack) for the opening basket. Mansfield responded with a jumper from Sterling Scott 19 seconds later to tie the game.

The two sides traded points in a one-possession game over the next six minutes before a corner three from
Naeem Purnell-Northern (Darby, Pa./Penn Wood) pushed Bloomsburg ahead 13-9.
Chase Smucker (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg) extended the lead to seven with a three of his own 41 seconds later. From there the Huskies slowly extend the lead until the end of the first frame, taking a 38-28 lead into halftime.

Bloomsburg began the second half on the wrong side of a 13-0 run that saw the Mountaineers take a 41-38 lead five minutes in. A layup from Naugle paused the visitors' momentum, pulling them within one before a pair of free throws from
Kodi Johnson (Folcroft, Pa./Phelps School) gave the Huskies the lead once more.

The maroon and gold battled Mansfield for much of the frame in a back-and-forth affair until late foul trouble allowed the home side to pull ahead to a 72-61 victory.

Bloomsburg is back in action on Saturday, January 24 as they head to Millersville for a 3 p.m. matchup with the Marauders.
