Softball | 1/28/2026 2:30:00 PM

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Bloomsburg softball team was picked to finish sixth in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division in the preseason polls.

The sixth-place choice comes after the Huskies were chosen to finish fifth in last year's polls. They ended last year in fourth with a 33-21 (19-13 PSAC) record. The Huskies made their 30th PSAC Tournament appearance in 2025 with Huskies Hall of Famer Susan Kocher as head coach.

East Stroudsburg tops the poll with six first-place votes after winning the tournament last year. Shippensburg came in second with two first-place votes after losing in the first round of the tournament. They are followed by PSAC Tournament runner-up, Shepherd, who received one first-place vote. Kutztown and West Chester were ranked at fourth and fifth respectively. Following Bloomsburg, in order, are Millersville (7th), Lock Haven (8th) and Mansfield (9th).

Out of the west, Slippery Rock claims first with four first-place votes. IUP was close behind, taking second with three first-place votes. Gannon received one first-place vote and is ranked third. Seton Hill and California (Pa.) placed fourth and fifth respectively. The remainder of the rankings featured Clarion (6th), Pitt-Johnstown (7th) and Edinboro (8th).

The Huskies will have two of three players featured in the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-Atlantic Region Second Team with out fielder Allie Wenrich (Dauphin, Pa./Central Dauphin) and pitcher Sarah Yamrick (Fort Myers, Fla./Bishop Verot)

Bloomsburg will begin its 2026 campaign traveling to Wilmington, Del. to face Goldey-Beacom in a doubleheader on Feb. 21. The Huskies' first PSAC game will be on March 20 against Shepherd in a doubleheader. They will not play their first home game until March 27 against Kutztown, also in a doubleheader.
