The Bloomsburg women's basketball team dominated against the Shippensburg Raiders 76-45.
The Huskies shot 50.9% (29-for-57) from the field. Bloomsburg also made six out of 13 shots from beyond the arc.
Three Huskies scored double digits in the game. Alison Hatajijk led the team in points with 19.
Kelly Leszcynski (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth) made four out of five shots from deep and ended the night with 16 points.
Maddison Maynard (Lansford, Pa./Panther Valley) also scored 16 points and led the team in rebounds with eight.
Ava Stevenson (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Trinity) and
Maddie LaFrance (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) ended the night with six and seven points respectively.
Sophia Shults (Hazleton, Pa./Hazleton Area) had a career high in points with six while playing in the most minutes in her short collegiate career with 16.
Olivia Selverian (Marlton, N.J./Cherokee) scored four points while
Leah Kale (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove) added two off of the bench.
First Half:
The Huskies defense was elite in the first quarter, only allowing four points. The Huskies made three shots from deep, one from LaFrance and two from Leszcynski. All five starters scored in this quarter along with some points off of the bench from Selverain and Shults. The quarter ended with Bloomsburg up 24-4
Shippensburg started the quarter with four quick points to try and make the lead more manageable. Hatajik would fight back with six points of her own to bring the lead up to 22. Bloomsburg kept up the pressure with more all-around scoring from the whole team. The Huskies entered halftime up 44-18.
Second Half:
Maynard scored five straight points to boost the lead to 31. Stevenson, Hatajik and LaFrance also scored in the quarter, but the Huskies would go into the final quarter up 58-33.
Bloomsburg kept up the pace, with free throws from Hatajik and LaFrance to bolster their lead. A three from Leszcynski, a jumper from Shults and a layup from Hatajik brought the lead back to 31. The Raiders hit a three and two free throws to force the lead down to 28, but Stevenson made a three to seal the dominant victory 76-45.

Bloomsburg will travel to East Stroudsburg to play the Warriors on Jan. 13 at 5:30 p.m.
