BLOOMSBURG, Pa. - The Bloomsburg women's soccer team comfortably came away with a 4-0 victory at Steph Pettit Stadium on Wednesday against Mansfield.

The Huskies (9-4-1, 6-4-1 PSAC East) scored two goals in each half en route to the win over the Mountaineers (1-13, 0-12). The scoring started in the first half with contributions from
Daryn Savage (Bensalem, Pa./Archbishop Wood) and
Olivia Thompson (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts). In the second half,
Haley Bull (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) and
Cassi Snyder (Hegins, Pa./Tri-Valley) tacked on added insurance in the contest.

As a team, Bloomsburg finished with a 33-1 shot advantage, featuring a 16-1 difference in shots on target. The Huskies finished the day with nine corners to Mansfield's zero.

How It Happened:
Bloomsburg started with four chances inside the first nine minutes, setting the intensity in the final third. A shot from Bull led to a corner kick, a setup that would prove to be a positive outcome.
Lindsey Bull (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) would be the player for the Huskies to stand over the kick, with her outswinging ball connecting with a fellow backline member in Savage. The senior held her ground and put power and aim on a header to put Bloomsburg up 1-0.

The Mountaineers would fire off their lone shot of the day in the 11th minute after the Huskies wasted little time to take another two chances. Mansfield maintained possession from a goal kick and moved the ball from the right wing into the center of the field. The build-up gave Mansfield only enough room for a long-range effort that began to lose steam on its flight to goal, making it an easy stop for
Izzy Hoffeditz (Mercersburg, Pa./James Buchanan) in net.

The Huskies did not miss with their next chance, as they went up by two inside 15 minutes played with the next shot of the match. Bloomsburg immediately scored following a drop kick from the Mountaineers, in which Savage punted the ball forward before it hit the ground. H. Bull got a head on the ball to alter the trajectory and spin, leading to Thompson being played through and netting the finish to double the advantage.

A number of underclassmen for Bloomsburg had their sights set on extending the team's advantage and nearly did so.
Kelsey Beatie (Middletown, Del./Appoquinimink) and
Jordan Andrews (Mountain Top, Pa./Crestwood) led the charge for the first-years, as the tandem each recorded two shots on target after coming off the bench.
Katie Reynolds (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) took a pair of shots from outside the box, with one just being punched over the crossbar and the other curling away from the top left corner. The Huskies finished the first half outshooting Mansfield, 19-1.

Bloomsburg did not waste much time in the second half to add on to the score, needing less than three minutes after the halftime whistle. An early shot on target by Thompson a minute into the second half preluded the effectiveness of the Huskies' pressing efforts. Two minutes later, H. Bull was in position to collect the ball and run at goal following a bad touch by a Mountaineer defender, and make it a three-goal contest.

Bloomsburg's ability to apply continual pressure on net put the Mansfield defense in precarious positions, eventually leading to another compromising corner kick.
Anna Dalesandro (Robesonia, Pa./Conrad Weiser) took the mantle next to the corner flag, delivering an outswinger that headed towards its target location at the front post. With a number of players making a run in that direction, it was Snyder who emerged at the front of the pack from the fray and placed her shot into the bottom corner to cap off the scoring.
