FROSTBURG, Md. - Jordan Bond (Dallas, Pa./Dallas) scores two goals in 2-1 victory over Frostburg State.
Bond is now tied for third in goals for Bloomsburg this season.
Kaylyn Elliott (Clarks Summit, Pa./Abington Heights) assisted Bond on her first goal, her third assist on the season.
Molly Bross (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) recorded one save in her first win in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) as the starting goalkeeper.
First Half:
Frostburg stuck first in the match up by scoring a goal halfway through the second period. The Huskies had multiple shots on goal but could not connect, forcing them to go into halftime down for the first time this season.
Second Half:
With four minutes into the third period, Elliott would find Bond for the goal to tie the game 1-1.
Laura Albert (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) and
Sophie Lawler (Newport, Pa./Newport) were penetrating the Bobcats' defense constantly to keep the momentum in the Huskies' favor. The game was still tied after the third period 1-1.
Within the first two minutes of the final period, Bond once again found the net and gave the Huskies their first lead of the game. The Husky defense stepped up in crunch time as the Bobcats only got off two shots in the final minutes of regulation, one was wide and the other was blocked. Through some adversity, Bloomsburg walked away with the victory.
On the Horizon:
The Huskies will return to Steph Pettit Stadium to face #5-ranked West Chester on Oct. 7. The game will start at 4 p.m.
