WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - The Bloomsburg men's tennis team starts off 1-0 after defeating Daemen 5-2.
Doubles:
The team of
Denis Dementev (Saint-Petersburg, Russia/Russian Gymnasium at the State Russian Museum) and
Jack Seaborn (Cambridge, England/The Leys School) took the first flight 6-4.
Jaime Soria (Pamplona, Spain/Liceo Monjardin) and
Sergio Dilan (San Juan, Puerto Rico/Cedin)Â won the second flight 6-2 to secure the point for the Huskies in doubles.
Landon Wall (Tabernacle, N.J./Seneca High School) and
Alejandro Higuera (Ciudad Obregon, Mexico/Colegio Weston) ended doubles competition, winning 6-5.
Singles:
Dementev secured his second victory of the match by taking the first flight 6-2, 6-2. Higuera swept the competition away in the second flight, winning 6-0, 6-0.
Seaborn played well in the third flight by taking a 6-4, 6-1 victory. Bloomsburg's final point came from the hands of Soria who won in the fourth flight 6-3, 6-4.Â
On the Horizon:
The Huskies will be travel to Loretto, Pa. to face Saint Francis on Feb. 14. Play time is to be determined.Â
