Box Score FAIRMONT, W. Va. – The Bloomsburg women's tennis team fell to a pair of regional opponents over the weekend. The Huskies dropped a 6-1 match to West Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday before falling to Fairmont State 5-0 on Sunday.

Nicole Ilkovic (Langhorne, Pa./Neshaminy High School) and
Jen McDonald (Melbourne, Australia/Brentwood Secondary College) picked up the lone win for the Huskies in doubles action with a 6-0 victory at No. 2 doubles. WVW earned a 6-1 win at No. 1 and a 6-0 win at No. 3 doubles to pick up the first win of the match.

Lia-Sophie Seele (Mülheim, NRW, Germany/Luisenschule) earned a hard-fought win at No. 2 singles. She dropped the first set 6-4 but rebounded for a 6-4 to tie the match. Seele won the tie-break 10-7 to pick up the only point for the Huskies. McDonald won her first set 6-3 at No. 3 singles but Renata Pozzobon came back for a 6-0 win in the second set and an 11-9 win in the tie break.
Lily Sierka (Pittsburgh, Pa./Bethel Park) won her first set 6-4 at No. 5 singles but Sneha Sundaraneedi fought back for a 7-6 (7-5) win in the second set and a 10-6 win in the tie break.

Fairmont State won the doubles point with a sweep of the doubles matches to take a 1-0 lead.

The Falcons picked up four match wins in singles action to clinch the match win. After winning her first set at No. 3 singles, McDonald trailed 3-2 in the second. See fell in her first set 6-3 at No. 2 singles and was trailing 5-3 in the second when the match was clinched.

The Huskies return to the court on Monday, March 23 when they host Juniata for a 3:00 p.m. match. The Bloomsburg/West Liberty match originally scheduled for Monday, March 16 was canceled due to rain and cold temperatures.
